Job Overview
We are excited to announce the opening of a new Japanese fine dining restaurant and are seeking a talented and experienced Head Bartender to lead our bar team. The ideal candidate will bring a genuine passion for sincere hospitality to our team and guests. This role offers an opportunity to showcase creativity in craft cocktails while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and beverage presentation. The Head Bartender will be responsible for delivering beverage recipes to standard, developing seasonal cocktails, training team members, and meeting sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the bar team, ensuring efficient service during all shifts
  • Prepare and serve our innovative cocktails, utilizing knowledge of Japanese spirits and ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in compliance with food safety standards
  • Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of beverages
  • Train staff on our Toast POS system for accurate order processing and cash handling
  • Monitor alcohol consumption to promote responsible drinking practices
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate service flow during busy hours
  • Uphold brand standards and ensure the bar reflects the restaurant’s ambiance
  • Assist in developing beverage menus that complement our menu offerings

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Head Bartender or Lead Bartender in a fine dining or upscale hospitality setting
  • Minimum 8 years in NYC as a Bartender in high-end cocktail bars, upscale lounges, or fine dining establishments
  • Strong knowledge of Toast POS
  • Demonstrated expertise in cocktail creation, including Japanese-inspired drinks
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently
  • Experience in sales techniques to promote beverage offerings effectively
  • Background in food safety, food handling, and responsible alcohol service regulations
  • Professional demeanor and attention to detail
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant schedule
