Jet Analytics / SQL BI Consultant

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Jet Analytics / SQL BI Consultant to support and optimize a mature Microsoft BI environment. This role will focus on assessing, improving, and modernizing an existing Jet Analytics (Jet Data Manager) environment, including data warehouse architecture, SSAS cubes, performance optimization, and overall system reliability.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on BI professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving legacy environments, and partnering with the business to build scalable reporting solutions.

Responsibilities

* Assess and support the existing Jet Analytics / Jet Server environment, including configuration, architecture, scheduled jobs, data connectivity, and troubleshooting
* Analyze current data warehouse and cube architecture and recommend improvements
* Optimize SQL Server performance, queries, ETL processes, and data transformations
* Review and improve data refresh processes, incremental loading strategies, and overall warehouse efficiency
* Rebuild and refactor existing data warehouse structures and SSAS cubes to improve performance and maintainability
* Troubleshoot cube processing issues, server performance challenges, and data refresh failures
* Provide best-practice recommendations around Jet Analytics administration and BI architecture
* Develop a strong working relationship with internal teams and provide ongoing fractional consulting support

Required Qualifications

* Strong hands-on experience with Jet Analytics / Jet Data Manager
* Experience managing and optimizing SQL Server data warehouses
* Strong knowledge of SQL development, query tuning, and performance optimization
* Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Multidimensional Cubes (required - not Tabular)
* Experience with ETL, data modeling, and data transformation processes
* Strong understanding of BI architecture and reporting environments

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (highly preferred) or Dynamics 365 Business Central
* Understanding of NAV/BC database structures and ERP data flows
* Experience with SSIS and SSRS
* Experience supporting legacy Microsoft BI environments
* Experience with MDX, OLAP, or cube optimization

The ideal candidate will have a strong Microsoft BI background with experience supporting Jet Analytics environments tied to Dynamics NAV/Business Central. They should be comfortable stepping into an existing environment, identifying performance bottlenecks, recommending architectural improvements, and helping build a more efficient and scalable reporting platform.
