Benefits: Vehicle allowance or company vehicle, health benefits, PTO, paid holidays, and long-term growth opportunity

A well-established Texas-based General Contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee commercial construction projects in the Brownsville market.

This is an opportunity to join a growing, relationship-driven builder with a strong backlog of public and private sector work across Texas. The company operates with a lean, hands-on structure and is looking for a Superintendent who can take ownership of projects, lead from the field, and keep work moving safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, communicates well with subcontractors and clients, and understands how to maintain schedules without sacrificing quality.

Project Types

Projects may include:

  • Educational facilities
  • Municipal and government projects
  • Commercial developments
  • Industrial and infrastructure-related facilities
  • Renovations and ground-up construction

Typical project sizes range from several million dollars to large-scale institutional developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field operations from mobilization through project completion
  • Manage subcontractors, schedules, site logistics, and inspections
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, architects, engineers, and ownership teams
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule and within quality expectations
  • Conduct safety meetings and maintain OSHA compliance on-site
  • Review construction documents, drawings, RFIs, and subcontractor scopes
  • Lead site coordination meetings and maintain accurate daily reports
  • Identify and resolve field issues proactively to avoid delays
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and internal leadership

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Superintendent experience in commercial construction
  • Experience managing ground-up and/or major renovation projects
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and sequencing
  • Ability to manage multiple trades and maintain jobsite organization
  • Experience with scheduling software and construction management platforms such as Procore or MS Project preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • OSHA certification preferred
  • Stable work history with proven project success

Ideal Background

Strong consideration will be given to candidates with experience in:

  • K-12 or higher education construction
  • Municipal/government projects
  • Commercial or institutional construction
  • Design-build environments
  • Mid-sized General Contractors where the Superintendent had significant project ownership

What Makes This Opportunity Attractive

  • Strong pipeline of Texas commercial construction projects
  • Leadership team that values field input and operational execution
  • Lean company structure with less bureaucracy
  • Opportunity for long-term growth into Senior Superintendent or Operations leadership
  • Stable company with decades of construction experience across Texas markets

Why Apply?

This is your chance to join a financially strong, growth-oriented contractor with decades of market presence. Work on diverse projects across Texas — from schools and retail to industrial facilities — and enjoy career advancement opportunities in a supportive culture.
